WE ARE LOSING OUR
IDENTITY
INTRODUCTION
We are losing our identity as a godly nation when we allow the surfacing, and acceptability, of ungodly venues to operate; with an infestation that is rapidly consuming victims with its tentacle of success growing at an alarming rate!
There is a troubling aspect as one witness the downsizing of a “Nation under God” concept due to ungodly features being allowed to penetrate and establish a firm footing of deception and acceptance of its once condemned traits. There is a highlighting of encroachment through the help of governmental intrusion, media and social media promotion; along with popularization by organizations who are attempting to alter the godly foundation previous established!

Ungodly Organizations
We are losing our identify through such programs as Socialism and Marxism, cousins to Communism, Critical Race Theory (CRT), the Great Reset Plan, instituted by the World Economic Forum; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) transformation; to name but a few, that would upset the normality of life.
Goals include: Discredit family as an institution; control of the schools to use as tools for promoting ungodly agenda; break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography in books, magazines, motion pictures, and TV; infiltrate the press, gain control of key positions in government, radio, TV, and motion pictures; infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with social religion; along with legalized abortion, homosexuality, same sex marriage, and transgenderism as a way of life.
We Have Forgotten
God
We are losing our identify can be applied to any nation that is losing its grip on a firm godly foundation! America was called out for such by its former President, Abraham Lincoln: We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God.
We have forgotten the gracious hand that preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these things were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us. We are losing our identity when those words are lost in the shuffle of remembrance of the past?
Suffering the Ungodly
to Reign
We are losing our identity as we suffer the ungodly to reign bringing us to what the Prophet Isaiah warned against: Woe to them that call evil good and good evil; that put darkness for light and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight; which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him (Isaiah 5:20-23)!
There are those who rejoice as they witness the turnaround of righteousness with unrighteousness blooming forth as a bright young flower in the making! There is a feasting of ungodliness through many venues: The internet, social media, television programming, movies of a ungodly nature, with the youth of the land indoctrinated through such rather than decent moral programming.
New Array of Rulings
We are losing our identity as a godly nation with allowance being made for the ungodly to flourish rather than condemned? Apostle Paul noted: The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteous of men, who hold (suppress) the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18). There is an onrush of activity, even the indoctrination of our children, towards embracing ungodliness rather than the instructive word of God!
There is an onrush to uphold the ungodly concept of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) transformation (previously mentioned) that pushes aside qualified individuals for the sake of hiring others to fill established goals without regard to standards of qualification. We are witnessing the failure of such promotion with a failure to perform even basic standards established.
Failure to Heed Warnings
of the Past
We are losing our identify by failure to heed warnings of the past: Every thinking man realizes that the teachings of the Bible are interwoven with our whole civic and social life that it would be literally impossible for us to figure what life would be if those teachings were removed. We would lose almost all the standards by which we now judge both public and private morals; all the standards towards which we strive to raise ourselves (Theodore Roosevelt).
It is impossible to enslave mentally or socially a Bible-reading people. The principles of the Bible are the groundwork of human freedom (Horace Greenly). The Bible is the rock on which our Republic rests (Andrew Jackson). Moral habits cannot be safely trusted on any other foundation than religious principle, nor any government secure which is not supported by moral habits (Daniel Webster). These words of warning reveal the drift, or walking away from, what was identified as a potential problem but has now become reality!
Seeking Own Gain
Are we losing our identity by turning it over to those who seek after then own gain rather than the good of the country? One such example was noted by a certain political leader who made frequent use of Christian vocabulary. He talked about the blessing of the Almighty and the Christian beliefs which would become the pillars of the new government.
He spoke of his spirituality to the press; he displayed his tattered Bible and declared that he drew the strength for his great work from it, with many Christians welcomed him as a man sent from God. Who was this leader? It was Adolf Hitler. He was one, among many, who have attempted to elevate themselves, even using God as a promotional tool to accomplish such a feat, until the true motive was revealed!
No Longer Upholding
God's Word
Apostle Peter wrote: Feed (Shepherd) the flock of God which is among you, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre (dishonest gain), but of a ready (eager) mind (1 Peter 5:2). Jesus, in to what is referred to as the “Great Commission) said: Go, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Ghost (God’s Spirit); teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world (Matthew 28:19-20).
Apostle Paul noted: Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it (on the Cross of Calvary); that he might sanctify (set it apart) and cleanse it was the washing of water by the word (Word of God), that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:25-27). We are losing our identity by no longer upholding the Unadulterated (Pure) Word of God, and failing to live a sanctified life in the Lord?
Invitation Given to
the Church
Are we as the Laodicea Church! Jesus said to that church; I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot; I would that you were cold or hot (Revelation 3:16). It was noted that Laodicea means “People Ruling” and represents the unbelieving, materialistic church of all ages. It is likened to lukewarm water; not a total backslidden condition but rather lack of genuine faith.
Jesus continues in saying: Because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you of my mouth (reject out) (Revelation 3:17). Then repentance was extended: As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous therefore, and repent (Revelation 3:19). Then an invitation that extended: I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open it, I will come in to him, and will sup (dine) with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20)!
Invitation to Nations
A invitation, is given by God, to nations which have withdrawn from past commitment to Him: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked way, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
It was noted that while this promise was originally given to King Solomon regarding the people of Israel, it is certainly applicable to all who will call on the Lord in repentance and faith; this verse is a high expression of God’s loving readiness to hear the prayers of a repentant people.
Repentance and Restoration
We are losing our identity does not mean we, as a nation, have to continue to do so! God has made a provision, many times, in His Word for restoration and recommitment, offering a cleansing through repentance, as in the case of Nineveh. Scripture reveals: God saw their works (repentance), that they turned from their evil way; and God repented (relented) of the evil, that he had said he would do to them, and he did it not (Jonah 3:10)!
It was noted that God did not change in His
ultimate intention toward the Ninevites; rather, they changed in their attitude
toward Him. On the basis of that change,
God could deal with them in grace rather than judgment as their failure to repent
would have necessitated. Whether it is an individual, a nation, or church such equally applies to all! We serve a God who is as a consuming fire
(Hebrews 12:29) but also a God of mercy to the repentant in heart!
