The freshness of God's Spirit is prevalent to the believer. The word fresh implies being full or renewed. God has wonderfully supplied an outpouring of His Spirit to those who are prepared in their heart and life to receive the blessings of His Spirit.
Scripture reveals: When the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord (purpose of mind) in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven (divided) tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost (God's Spirit), and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:1-4).
Apostle Peter revealed: This is that which was spoken by the Prophet Joel, And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams (Acts 2:16-17). For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off (which includes today's believers), even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:39).
One missionary of whom I know personally, that ministers in the Amazon's, is seeing tremendous success through the leadership of God's Spirit. One can tell that Rev. Joe Mercer is truly amazed at what God is doing, in giving an account of what is taking place.
He has been ministering in the Amazon's for a number of years; and is seeing tremendous and exciting results, as he labors in the vineyard for the Lord. There is a fresh outpouring of God's Spirit as reflected on His Website "South American Call."
The Spirit filled manifestation is still ongoing. Peter first seen such a manifestation upon the 120 gathered in the upper room. It was only the beginning, which begin on the Day of Pentecost, as well as "all that are in the far off" category.
When I yielded my heart and life over to the Lord; I felt the presence of God's Spirit for the first time in my life. His presence was so strong on that day, and even to this day, when I focus on my heavenly Father, and my Lord and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Again the promise: For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
The term "filled" means to be continually filled emphasizing that the fullness of the Spirit is a continual experience for believers. It was noted that God desires that the Holy Ghost (that of His Spirit) guide the minds of believers so that they will walk in the Spirit, speak on behalf of God, and understand the things of God. Every Christian should be filled with the Spirit in order that they may have God's power to serve Him.
As previously mentioned, South American Call, a missionary effort in the Amazon's, is seeing the outpouring of God's Spirit on the inhabitants of the land after hearing the Word of God proclaimed. This is not only happening through this missionary effort but many others as well. The fresh outpouring of God's Spirit is revealed to those who are open to the fullness of the Gospel message.
Churches need the Holy Ghost's (that of God's Spirit) visitation, towards conviction of the soul, and a renewal of one's walk in the Lord. I have seen the results of such a manifestation, and it is indeed wondrous to behold; even more important is allowing God's Spirit to manifest Himself in one's life. Churches may have changed; but God's Word, and Spirit, have not; the prevalence of God's Spirit to convict, is a necessity that cannot be pushed aside.
I thank God for the churches that still allow God's presence to be manifested; allow conviction to flow as water unabated or unobstructed in its flow. Where the fresh outpouring of God's Spirit is prevalent there is growth; not decline.
Sometime prior to his death, General Booth of the Salvation Army, uttered this significant prophecy. I consider that the chief dangers that confront the coming century will be Religion without the Holy Ghost; Christianity without Christ; Forgiveness without regeneration; Morality without God; and Heaven without Hell.
It was noted that if God were to take the Holy Ghost away from the church today, 95 percent of what we are doing would continue and no one would know the difference. If God had taken away the Holy Ghost from the early church, 95 percent of what they were doing would have ceased and everybody would have known the difference.
In a prophecy given in a camp meeting were these words: When I visit My people in mighty revival power, it is to prepare them for the darkness ahead. With the glory shall come great darkness, for the glory is to prepare My people for the darkness, I will enable My people to go through because of the visitation of My Spirit.
In the last days shall come seducing spirits that shall turn many of My anointed ones away. Many shall fall through divers lusts and because of sin abounding. But if you will seek Me diligently, I will put My spirit within you. When one shall turn to the right hand or the left you shall not turn with them, but keep your eyes wholly on the Lord.
It was noted that our civilization cannot survive unless it is redeemed spiritually (Woodrow Wilson). Those words hold true towards the need of any nation which has divorced itself from God by allowing the ungodly to rule.
One of the characteristics of the future reign of Christ is the abundant outpouring of the Holy Ghost (God's Spirit). On the Day of Pentecost Peter recognized that the outpouring anticipated an even greater outpouring to come. The frequent outpourings of the Holy Ghost is the source of spiritual revivals and spiritual awakenings.
Let us pray for a fresh outpouring of God's Spirit, in the land, in our churches, to facilitate hearts and lives to serve the Lord in gratitude and love for what He done for us. Allow the Father, His Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and that of His Spirit, to be a part of one's being; that one may be fruitful in serving the Lord.
