POWER STRUGGLE
OF TODAY

Power-Struggle-of-Today

INTRODUCTION

Power struggle of today entails a broad spectrum of injustice towards gained liberties of the past; with the dominating influence of ungodliness a factor. Apostle Paul wrote:  The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold (suppress) the truth in righteousness (Romans 1:18).

It was noted that the wrath is not the revelation of a future judgment of God but a present revelation that parallels the present revelation of God’s righteousness.  Ungodliness is failure in the religious realm; unrighteousness is failure in the moral sphere or injustice toward man. Power struggle of today equates to an ongoing battle by the forces of evil.

Power Struggle of Today
Two Natures

The Apostle Paul identified the struggle of two natures (which remains the power struggle of today), in saying: I delight in the law of God after (according to) the inward man (spiritual); but I see another law (faction) in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

O wretched man that I am. Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh, the law of sin (Romans 7:22-25).  It was noted that the law of mind equates to the law of God after the inward (spiritual) man.  It refers to the influence of God’s Spirit in the believer’s life to obedience and good works.

Sin takes on an active force which climates as the law of sin.  It is the law of sin and death; the inherited sin from Adam, which if not overcome leads to death, spiritual and physical.  Apart from the indwelling of God’s Spirit, and the Lord Jesus Christ, the law of sin would have dominated Paul’s life.  This is why the Apostle Paul cried out, I thank God through Jesus Christ that with the mind (spiritually) I serve the law of God.

Cultivation of a Desired
Kingdom

Scripture reveals why there is a power struggle of today that dominates the scene without regard to a day of reckoning.  There are those who unknowingly are serving the Great Deceiver, Satan and his cohorts. Apostle John wrote:  The great dragon as cast out (from heaven), that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world; he was cast out into (to) the earth, and his angels (fallen) were cast out with him (Revelation 12:9).

Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea; for the Devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time (Revelation 12:12). It was noted that he has only a short time to try to prevent the establishment of Christ’s kingdom.  Therefore he has great wrath and intensifies his persecution in an attempt to set up his own counterfeit kingdom.

World Domination

A certain political leader made frequent use of Christian vocabulary.  He talked about the blessing of the Almighty and the Christian beliefs which would become the pillars of the new government.  He spoke of his spirituality to the press; he displayed his tattered Bible and declared that he drew the strength for his great work from it.  Who was this leader?  It was Adolf Hitler.

World domination was its goal; we are seeing this in the power struggle of today seeking to dominate the world scene, to gain control as Hitler, to make the world of its own making rather than for the good of mankind.  Hitler’s demise, and others of such a nature, are amply proof that freedom exists, Christianity exists, and the goodness of mankind exists, and always will until the coming of Christ to set up His kingdom upon earth.

Weapons of Warfare

Mercy-or-Wrath

Jesus said: I say to you, you are Peter (representative of the church), and upon this rock (foundation) I will build my church; and the gates of hell (evil forces) shall not prevail (overcome) it (Matthew 16:18).  The power struggle of today will not prevail against the righteous; those purchased by the precious soul cleansing blood of Jesus.

Apostle Paul wrote: The weapons of our warfare are not carnal (of human standards), but mighty through God, to the tearing down of strongholds (influence of the ungodly); casting down (destroying) imaginations (false arguments), and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity (placing it under subjection of God’s Word) every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

Calling Evil Good

Prophet Isaiah cried out: Woe to them that call evil good and good evil; that put darkness for light and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!  Woe to them that are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight (Isaiah 5:20-21)!  Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him (Isaiah 5:23).

Therefore as the fire (tongues of fire) devour the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as the dust: because they have cast away the law of the Lord, and despised the word of the Holy One (Isaiah 5:24). This is in reference to Israel but is applicable to any nation that seeks to override or undermine the Word of the Living God.

A Godly Influence

The Apostle Paul revealed the nature of godly influence: Flee youthful lusts; follow (pursue with intensity) righteousness (those things which are consistent with the character of God), faith (belief in God’s Word), and charity (love regardless of the recipient), and peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.  But foolish and unlearned (disputes) questions avoid, knowing that they do gender (generate) strife.

The servant of the Lord (believer) must not strive (quarrel), but be gentle unto all men, apt (able) to teach, patient, in meekness instructing (correcting) those that oppose themselves (are in opposition); if God peradventure will give them repentance to (so they may know) the acknowledgment of the truth. And that they may recover themselves (come to their senses) out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at (to do) his will (2 Timothy 2:22-26).

Perilous Times

The-Enslavement-of-Mankind

The Apostle Paul forewarned of the ensuring power struggle of today and how our reaction should be:  This know that in the last days (which we are in) perilous times shall come.  Men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous (money lovers), boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy; without natural affection.

Trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent (without self-control), fierce, despisers of those that are good (the righteous), traitors, heady (reckless), high-minded (haughty), lovers of pleasures more (rather) than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

The Apostle Paul continued in saying: All that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (which is very much in evidence today). Evil men and seducers shall wax (grow) worse and worse, deceiving and (themselves) being deceived; but continue in the things which you have learned and have been assured of knowing of whom you have learned them (2 Timothy 3:12-14).

Sense of Urgency

Apostle Paul wrote: Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles (schemes) of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood (humanity), but against principalities (rulers), against powers (power struggle of today), against the rulers (world leaders) of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, wherefore (because of this) take (take up) the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all else to stand (Ephesians 6:10-13).

The whole armor of God consists of: Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Faith, Salvation, and the Word of God.  In the final text praying is linked to stand with prayer being indispensable. The power struggle of today is real and ongoing until the coming of Christ to set up His kingdom upon the earth; with the ungodly seeking to undermine such, through tools of deception.

Evilness of
Power Struggle

The power struggle of today includes such names as Socialism and Marxism, cousins to Communism; Critical Race Theory (CRT), the Great Reset Plan, instituted by the World Economic Forum; Diversity and Inclusion transformation; to name but a few, that would upset the normality of life.  Included in the spin-off of evil is a drive to maintain legalized abortion, homosexuality, same sex marriage, and transgenderism as a way of life.

Goals include: Discredit family as an institution; control of the schools to use as tools for promoting ungodly agenda; break down cultural standards of morality; infiltrate the press, gain control of key positions in government, radio, TV, and motion pictures; infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with social religion.

Goliath's of Today

Power struggle of today may seem as little David (a mere shepherd boy) fighting the giant Goliath; the only one in Israel willing to oppose him! But David was not alone; neither is any nation that is firmly established on the foundation of a nation under God concept; looking to Him as their source of strength!

God gave David the ability and strength to slay the giant which would have resulted in servitude to the Philistines had he lost! David’s confidence was out of God’s previous deliverance of him from a bear and lion that threaten his flock (1 Samuel 17:34-36); that likewise He would deliver him, and Israel, from the threat of Goliath; which he did! God is the source and strength of any nation in a power struggle to survive the Goliath's of today.
