INVENTORS OF EVIL
THINGS

INTRODUCTION

Inventors of evil things are originators of wicked, immoral, and sinful agenda in direct opposition to God's Word; that would not survive in a godly environment! Many nations have allowed such to surface, and stay afloat, rather than deal with them.

Apostle Paul gave warning: The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold (suppress) the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18).  Inventors of evil things need to realize that such is an abomination in the sight of God and there are consequences for doing so!

It was noted that the wrath mentioned is not the revelation of a future judgment of God but a present revelation that parallels the present revelation of God's righteousness. Ungodliness is failure in the religious realm;  unrighteousness is failure in the moral sphere of injustice toward man.

Inventors of Evil Things
Little Foxes

Noah H. Mack, in a sermon titled "Little Foxes" noted:  Those who have been responsible for the housekeeping has not been watchful enough and let the little foxes creep into the vineyard and now they are so numerous that they cannot be driven out by ordinary methods of teaching and warning, for they well-nigh have possession of the vineyard.

Those words were proclaimed in the 30's; how much more are we seeing an allowance being afforded towards the same with devastating results?  Inventors of evil things are coming into focus and bringing havoc in a gigantic way; as that of the Titanic racing towards destruction despite warnings of danger!

Traits of Today

Apostle Paul spoke of those who were filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness: full of envy, murder, strife (debate), deceit, malignity (evil-mindedness), whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful (violent), proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable (unforgiving), unmerciful (Romans 1:29-30).

It was noted that backbiters are those who publicly defame the character of individuals in an attempt to tarnish their good name and reputation. Haters of God are workers of iniquity; deniers of the providence of God, showing themselves to be enemies by their evil works.

Apostle Paul wrote: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same but have pleasure (approve) in them that do them (Romans 1:32).  We are seeing these traits today; in some instances even in the church which is changing its bylaws to accommodate ungodly lifestyles!

Evil Poison

One man noted:  Evil unchecked grows and evil tolerated poisons the whole system (Author Unknown).  Poison infects or pollutes the body until injury, illness, or death results. It can be of a harmful influence such as will ruin, taint, inhibit, or embitter.

Inventors of evil things are poisoning the minds of the youth at an early age.  Glorification of ungodly lifestyles, which are condemned in God's Word, has been allowed in the public school system and its educational process! We are seeing such due to a ungodly society that demands tolerance, and acceptability, rather than righteousness established in God's Unadulterated (Pure) Word!

Evilness of Man

Swarm-of-Evils

The Psalmist wrote concerning the evilness of man: There is no faithfulness (uprightness) in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness (destruction); their throat is an open sepulcher (tomb); they flatter with their tongue. Destroy you them, O God (pronounce them guilty), let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against you (Psalm 5:9-10).

Such characteristics are identified as morally objectionable behavior which causes harm or destruction; evil influences or deeds; evil speaking toward others; being an abomination, immoral, or obscene, and inventors of evil things that promote continued ungodliness.  We are seeing acceptance of such traits with many not realizing the implications (or even caring) for having done so!

Not Ashamed of Abominations
Committed

The Prophet Jeremiah, in speaking the words of the Lord, said: Were they ashamed when they had committed abominations? No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush (even know how): therefore shall they fall among them that fall: at the time I visit (punish) them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord (Jeremiah 6:15).

Stand you in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths (paths of righteousness), where is the good way, and walk therein, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, we will not walk therein. Also I set watchmen over you, saying, hearken to the sound of the trumpet, but they said, we will not hearken (Jeremiah 6:16-17).  It was noted that the people's stubborn refusal to walk in the traditional ways of true righteousness, and following their own way, would only lead to destruction.

Judgment was then pronounced: Hear, O earth; behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened to my words, nor to my law, but rejected it (Jeremiah 6:19). How many nations today fall into this category?

Being Held Captive

There are those who are being held captive by the things of this world; Apostle John wrote:  Love not the world neither the things in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father; but is of the world (1 John 2:15-16). We now have easy access to such traits through the Internet, movie industry, television programming, and other outlets that have opened the door to receive the ungodliness of man; thus becoming inventors of evil things.

The Lord in speaking to the Prophet Ezekiel asked:  Son of man, have you seen what ancients (elders) of the house of Israel do in the dark chambers (room of their idols), of his imagery? For they say, The Lord sees us not; the Lord has forsaken the earth (land) (Ezekiel 8:12).  Some in Ezekiel's day knew the right way; but chose to follow another, even in God's house!

The Psalmist wrote:  The Lord looks from heaven; he beholds all the sons of men.  From the place of his habitation; he looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth.  He fashioned their hearts alike (individually); he considers all their works (Psalm 33:13-15).

A Return to God

Revival-in-the-Church

Inventors of evil things; originators of wicked, immoral, and sinful lifestyles, are prevailing in our society.  It is unfortunate that they have been allowed to make their presence known; thus a drastic need for a return to God!

Scripture reveals: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14). It was noted that while this promise was originally given to King Solomon, regarding the people of Israel, it is applicable to all who will call on the Lord in repentance and faith!

The rejection of such was warned against: If you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I (God) have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; then will I pluck them (the violators) up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified (set apart) for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword, among all nations (2 Chronicles 7:19-20).

Inventors of evil things need to come to a realization that God is not mocked; Apostle Paul wrote:  Whatsoever a man sows that shall he reap (Galatians 6:7). It was noted that to disobey God's commands and then escape divine punishment would be to mock (outwit) God, making a mockery of Him and His Word.  The word reap is to be recompensed; unless forgiveness is sought!
