INTRODUCTION
Is sanity surfacing again is a question that should gain one’s attention as we see a new horizon of hope towards the future, whereas before such hope had diminished. Sanity is the state of mind, a soundness of judgment or reason that prevails. We are witnessing an influx of ungodly influence that does not fit into that description.
There is an influence being promulgated, and accepted, that goes beyond any human reasoning except those promulgating it. There is an ungodliness that parallels the pre-Flood days of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah, and Babylon the hold of every foul spirit, all of which were deal with by God’s judgment.
Is Sanity Surfacing Again
Pre-Flood Days of Noah
Is sanity surfacing again is answered in that God spared Noah and his family in which sanity prevailed; only eight souls deemed righteous, who did not uphold the ungodliness of their day. Apostle Peter wrote: God spared not the old world (pre-Flood days of Noah) but saved Noah, the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly (2 Peter 2:5).
Scripture reveals the complete lack of sanity of those days: God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination (intent or thought) of his heart was only evil continually; it repented the Lord (the Lord was sorry) that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart (Genesis 6:5-6).
New Hope Established
Scripture reveals: Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Genesis 6:8). God provided for the continuation of mankind, a renewed hope, a way of escape, ark of salvation, a new generation; but unfortunately man again allowed the seed of wickedness to flourish.
We are witnessing a renewal of such times as many continue to go further and further into depravity, walking in their own way, with no room for God or His Word. Scripture reveals: There is a way which seems right to a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 14:12). Are we on the slippery slope of acceptance rather than condemning that which is condemned in God’s Word?
Lack of Sanity Prevailing
Sodom and Gomorrah
Lack of sanity is prevailing, in these latter years, due to Sodom and Gomorrah undeniably being displayed with pride rather than condemned. The main characteristic of Sodom and Gomorrah, and surrounding cities, was homosexuality as reported by Apostle Paul: Their women did exchange the natural use of into (for) that which is against nature; likewise the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned into their lust one for another; men with men working that which is unseemly (shameful).
Apostle Peter noted God’s Judgment: God turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow (destruction), making them an example to those that after (afterward) should live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6). Has Sodom and Gomorrah risen again with the insanity of perverse ungodliness gaining ground?
Apostle Jude wrote concerning the ungodliness of those cities: Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication (sexual immorality), and going after strange flesh (homosexuality), are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance (punishment) of eternal fire (a literal burning Hell) (Jude 1:7).
Deliverance from Destruction
Apostle Peter and Jude noted the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah by God, as an example to those who afterward should live ungodly; yet it continues in its degrading and ungodly mannerism today. God preserves his faithful; as He did Noah from the Flood that destroyed all who were not in the ark of safety, as He did Lot and his household, from the destruction of Sodom.
Apostle Peter wrote: God delivered just Lot, vexed (oppressed) with the filthy conversation (conduct) of the wicked; for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed (tormented) his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds (2 Peter 2:7-8). The angels of God had to literally take Lot, and his family, by the hand to deliver them; for scripture records that he lingered.
What held Lot so spellbound that it took further action by the angels to deliver them; and later Lot’s wife who disobeyed the command not to look back but did? Is sanity surfacing again, or failing, became one has become so attached to the things of this world, that it would hinder them from deliverance?
Downfall of Babylon
Is sanity surfacing again, or failing, as in the case of Babylon? Apostle John reported that an angel proclaimed: Babylon, the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils (demons), and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage (habitation) of every unclean and hateful bird (individual) (Revelation 18:2).
John continued to report: How she has glorified herself, and lived deliciously (in luxury), so much torment and sorrow give her; for she said in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow (Revelation 18:7). Judgment was pronounced; Her plagues would come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire; for strong in the Lord God who judges her (Revelation 18:8).
Deliverance from Babylon
In regard to Babylon, the question: Is sanity surfacing again, sanity was offered through an invitation. It was recorded that Apostle John heard the voice of an angel from heaven, saying: Come out of her my people, that you be not partakes (caught up) of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues; for her sins have reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities (Revelation 18:4-5).
Apostle Paul made a similar plea to those in Corinth: What agreement has the temple of God with idols? You are the temple of the living God,; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people; wherefore come out from among them, and be you separate saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you; and will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty (2 Corinthians 6:16-18).
Jesus made a similar plea to the church at Laodicea: I stand at the door (door of one’s heart), and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door (only you can), I will come into him, and will sup (dine) with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20-21). The question: Is sanity surfacing again; can be answered with a resounding Yes, when one accepts God’s invite to turn the table of insanity around, and accept His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Ongoing Warfare
Apostle Paul wrote: I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members (Romans 7:23). Is sanity surfacing again; or the opposite, in that there are demonic influences out to destroy any who seek to live according to the God’s Word.
Apostle John wrote both a warning and solution to such a dilemma: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour; resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished (experienced by) your brethren that are in the world. The God of all grace, who has called us (the believers) into his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered awhile, make you perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you (1 Peter 5:8-10).
Standing for Sanity
Is sanity surfacing again is encouraging when one sees evidence of such happening; thank God for those who stand for the sanity of a nation when adverse promptings are at hand. There is an influence rising from such names as Socialism and Marxism, cousins to Communism; Critical Race Theory (CRT), the Great Reset Plan, instituted by the World Economic Forum; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI); to name but a few, that fail to bring sanity of the mind; rather display insanity by what they promote.
Included in this spin-off of insanity, is legalized abortion, homosexuality, same sex marriage, and transgenderism as a way of life. There is an infusion of money and power in backing such agenda; even on a global setting. I truly thank God that through those who are opposing such agenda; in that one can then respond to the question: Is sanity surfacing again, with a resounding Yes.
Result of Insanity
Apostle Paul wrote: As they (the ungodly) did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient (fitting) (Romans 1:28). It was noted that God delivered them over to the natural result of their action. When they followed the lie they began to walk in conformity to the lie. Three consequent actions resulted: God gave them up to all forms of uncleanness and its consequent actions; God gave them up to all forms of sexual depravity and its consequent actions; and God gave them over to a mind that would not retain Him its knowledge and its consequent actions.
Apostle Paul mentioned some of the characteristics which can be attributed to now as well: Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication (sexual immorality), wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate (strife), haters of God, proud, and boasters (Romans 1:29-30). Apostle Paul further wrote: Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever man sows that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7). Though insanity seems to prevail; one day all will be held accountable. Scripture reveals: It is appointed to men once to die but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).
Repentance Available
Apostle John wrote: If we confess our sins, he is faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). I any man sin, we have an advocate (intercessor) with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; he is the propitiation (atonement) for our sins and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:1-2).
He that believes on the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) has everlasting life (a heavenly reward); and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides (remains) on him (a literal burning Hell) (John 3:36). Is sanity surfacing again; Yes, for those who will accept the calling of Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and abide in Him.
