March in cadence is to do so in uniform time being resolute in purpose and willing to sacrifice whatever it takes to accomplish one's goal. We live in a time in which there is dissension worldwide with a fortitude that brings large numbers out to protest what is considered an injustice. Many such movements are justifiable with peaceful protests while others are disruptive in nature with an ungodly commitment.
The Prophet Joel sounded the alarm, spoke of those that shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march everyone one in his ways and they shall not break their ranks (Joel 2:7).
It was noted that this Scripture warned of a future invading army that would sweep the land; a magnitude that could not be controlled without God's intervention. They shall run; like men of war, in a hostile way, walls cannot keep them out, all places are accessible to them, they shall go forth in bands, as that of military discipline.
We are seeing an advance of ungodliness attempting to control in a dominating way. There is an invasion of the ungodly as the pre-Flood days of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah, and Babylon the hold of every foul spirit; with godly ways becoming almost non-existent in such an environment.
We are living in a climate of national disunity; due to those who march in cadence (step) towards the fostering of ungodliness to wrap its long-reaching tentacles against any form of godliness. There is an attempt to squeeze the life out of any godly virtue and its continued existence. This advance has invaded places that previously were not accessible; in an attempt to warp the minds of the most vulnerable, the youth of the land.
Jesus said: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone them which are sent to you; how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and you would not. Behold, your house is left to you desolate (Matthew 23:37-38).
The generation in which those words were addressed represented the climax of its sinful history by those rejecting the provisions of God. There is now a march in cadence, rejection of godly values, in our present day environment.
Scripture tells of those who march in cadence in a destructive way but allowed by God: I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty (impetuous) nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwelling places that are not theirs (Habakkuk 1:6).
God allowed a powerful and warlike people to invade the land that was once under the umbrella of His protection; marching boldly and opposing all opposition in the way. He allowed the Chaldeans to be vessels towards His judgment upon the land; as He now allows havoc, destruction, and calamity upon those nations which have forsaken Him.
Apostle John noted that in the case of Babylon there was a call for God's people to come out of her: I heard another voice from heaven, saying, come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities (Revelation 18:4-5).
Believers were called upon not to march in cadence with the sinful nature of Babylon or else they would share in her plagues. It is unfortunate that many believers have allowed themselves to be caught in the web of deceit that is ushering in acceptance of ungodly ways.
Apostle James wrote: Draw nigh (near) to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you doubleminded (James 4:8). It was noted that the cleansing of one's life involves both inner thoughts and outward deeds; which begins in the heart with a resolve to walk in accordance with God's Word.
The Apostle Paul wrote: Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness (2 Corinthians 6:14)? Wherefore come out from among them, and be you separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (2 Corinthians 6:17). This is a clear command that the believer is not to march in cadence with the ungodly persuasion of our day; but rather separate from its influence.
We are seeing an attempt to dominate the land with actions that are in direct opposition to God's Word. It is unfortunate that many, even believers, have allowed tolerance and acceptably to play into focus; rather than be in opposition to the evils of our day.
The Apostle Paul wrote: Professing themselves to be wise, they become fools (Romans 1:22). Wherefore God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves (Romans 1:24). Is God allowing nations; who have allowed ungodliness to manifest itself, to pursue their own destiny?
For one to march in cadence with the world, and a sin-filled lifestyle, will certainly take that person to a place of eternal torment (Hell); unless repentance comes into focus. However, to march in cadence with the Word of God, and a life in Christ, will lead one to a heavenly abode.
Scripture reveals: He that believes on the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abides (remains) on him (John 3:36).
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God's desire is to deliver every sinner from the eternal grips of Hell, into the threshold of Heaven.
The term march is defined as moving along steadily in step with others. March in cadence is to not get out of step but steadfastly moving in unison with others. Oftentimes one gets caught up in a movement because it is popular; no matter its origin or creditability.
In such a setting one's strings are pulled, as a puppet, to control one's movements, to the glee of the puppeteer. Apostle Paul wrote: Know you not, that to whom you yield (present) yourselves servants to obey, his servants (slaves) you are to whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness (Romans 6:16).
There is a march in cadence towards the ungodliness of man that has captured the attention of many; with little effort to rid oneself from its clutches, because one does not see its destructive path. Scripture reveals: There is a way which seems right to a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 14:12). The way which seems right may not be the best or righteous way.
Can God bless a people, or nation, that is not in obedience to His Word? Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land because of one act of disobedience (Deuteronomy 32:51-52). God could no longer bless Israel, because of one man's act of disobedience (Joshua 7:1), but after the sin was dealt with God's blessings begin to flow again.
There are nations who have allowed ungodliness to be promoted with consumption taking place; along with individuals who cannot speak out due to being partakers themselves. Apostle Paul wrote: You which teach another, teach not yourself? You that preaches a man should not steal, do you steal (Romans 2:21)?
If a nation; walks in cadence, let it be in cadence with the Word of God. Let those nations, who have fell by the wayside, have a Nineveh type repentance as occurred in the days of Jonah the prophet.
Scripture reveals that when God's judgment was proclaimed upon Nineveh; the people believed God and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth (a sign of repentance), from the greatest of them even to the least of them (Jonah 3:5).
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented (relented) of the evil, that he had said that he would do to them; and he did it not (Jonah 3:10). It was noted that God did not change in His ultimate intention toward the Ninevites; rather, they changed in their attitude toward Him. On the basis of that change, God could deal with them in grace, rather than in judgment as their failure to repent would have necessitated.
