Restoration of God's People
Restoration of God's people is plausible when one turns to their Creator. Israel of old cried out: "Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off" (Exekiel 37:11). There was no hope apart from a divine intervention. Israel's ultimate restoration would bring a cleansing inwardly and spiritually. Her land would be restored to prosperity. God's sanctuary would be established among them forever.
A Nation of Lost Hope
I thank God for the freedom that still exists in America to worship freely without fear of reprisal. I know many, in other countries
(see Voice of Martrys which lists those countries )
do not have such freedom, but the God of Ezekiel who restored Israel of old, can bring restoration! Israel of Ezekiel's day had turned their back on God, refused to obey His commandments, and worshipped other gods, and became a nation of lost hope. But God, in His mercy, after repentance came, began to restore, revitalize, and nuture His people once again. At times it takes conditions of adversity to bring people back to God.
In Ezekiel, chapter 37, in the Vision of the Valley of Dry Bones, God's anointed Word came forth in power and demonstration of His Spirit to produce renewed hope and life. We need more of the manifestation of God's Spirit in the hour in which we live. Many have become as dry bones, no longer full of vigor and power they once possessed. God is able to restore, to replenish that which was lost.
A Mental Lapse
America is suffering a mental lapse in its association with the God of its creation. It has allowed the ungodly to begin to weigh anchor and sail forth with policies that would deteriorate America's former stand for the truth of God's Word. It no longer has the freedom to instruct its children to the truth of that Word in its public schools or to offer up prayer to a heavenly Father in that setting. It now has abortion on demand at the expense of precious children that would have been born. Lives are becoming more restrictive to what is allowed.
An unknown author wrote: Love America! But love her wisely. Work hard to cure the faults under which she labors. Work to bring her closer to the ideal that is the real America. Do not leave her to be ruled by a few who make it their business and profit to rule. She is yours.
Questionable Character
We live in a nation of comfortability, a nation of many deciding factors that would prompt it to sway in its former commitment. Men and women of questionable character are voted into public office because the morals of the people have dissipated and acceptance of the previously unacceptable has become a normality. The Unadultrated Word of God has become unpopular because it condemns certain lifestyles that have now become acceptable in our society. There are those who need to return to their closets once again rather than promote their agenda to others.
Scripture reveals that the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold (or suppress) the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18). America needs a a restoration to be set upon that firm foundation in which she was established as "one nation under God."
