Pentecostal Fire
Let the Pentecostal fire set this nation aflame once again in the power and demonstration of God's Spirit. The term Pentecostal pertains to various Christian groups that emphasize the activity of the Holy Ghost, or that of God's Spirit, stresses holiness in living, their expression of faith uninhibited, as by speaking in tongues. Fire can be related to that of being zealous, to glow as if on fire, become excited through the power of God's Spirit, with brilliance, and liveliness.
Pentecostalism is a religious movement within Christianity that places special emphasis on the direct personal experience of God through the baptism of the Holy Ghost, as shown in the Biblical account of the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). The majority of Pentecostals believe that, in order to be saved, one must repent of sin, believe in Jesus as Savior, and accept His Lordship.
Pentecostals further believe that the Bible has definitive authority in matters of faith. Pentecostal services are usually very lively. They give spontaneous expressions of praise, speaking in tongues, raising one's hands in the style common in the early church. In the 60's, many Pentecostal churches had strict dress codes and forbidding certain forms of entertainment, creating a cultural distinction. Now many Pentecostal churches put little emphases on dress and entertainment issues.
The Zeal for Holiness
I believe we have lost the power from on high because we have lost the zeal for a walk in holiness. We have become so intoxicated with the induction of the world and its attraction has become more of an influence than living a separated life unto God. There has been a laxity in preaching the Unadultrated Word of God in the hour in which we live in order to see growth in numbers rather than growth in holiness before the Lord.
Let the Pentecostal fire burn once again in the lives of the believer in Christ. Let the holiness of God burn once again in the hearts of the believer. Let righteousness reign again. Let the Word of God be proclaimed to its fulness. Let the darkness of this world began to dissipate as the light of the gospel dispels darkness. Let the love of the world not so dominate the life of the believer that separation to God is no longer a factor. Let numbers not be our strength but holiness before the Lord. Let no man's glory reign but God's glory be established in the hearts of men.
It may not be to one's likening, or desire, but God clearly defines a holy walk before Him, through His Word. Holiness use to saturate the church and it was clearly evident. Why has such an avenue now been cast aside; is it became of worldliness within the church of the living God? Is it because man had become rebellious to God's Word and living his own lifestyle? It is because the strait and narrow way is no longer appealing and the broad way is now more acceptable (Matthew 7:13-14). For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul (Mark 8:36-27)?
The Heart of Man
Let the hearts of man be renewed in fellowship with His Creator. Let revival sweep throughout our land, and that of others, in a renewal of commitment to the one and only God, and Savior of the World. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
